Grant Illingworth, Barrister, Auckland, has a Master of Laws (Hons) degree from Auckland University and over 30 year's experience in a wide range of cases including over 30 appeals in the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council. He specialises in civil litigation with a particular emphasis on Public Law. Recent highlights include a landmark judicial review of Government's Special Education policy; successfully defending the British Government's injunction claim against a former SAS officer; and assisting with the successsful constitutional challenge following the attempted military revolution in Fiji. Grant Illingworth specialises in public law and civil litigation. Grant has been in practice for over 30 years. Grant holds an LLM with Honours from The University of Auckland, where he was also awarded the Fowlds Memorial Prize for the most distinguished masters student in the Faculty of Law. He is a former convenor of the Public Issues Committee of the Auckland District Law Society and has presented papers at numerous legal seminars. Grant has been a guest lecturer at the University of Auckland on a number of occasions and is one of the authors of Adams on Criminal Law, contributing mainly in relation to constitutional and administrative law issues. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2003.
